Due to the laws surrounding smoking outside in Spain – that it’s still very illegal – if you can find a club with frosted windows, you’ve struck gold. They are very rare.
Located just a few minutes from the Universitat Metro station, this cannabis coffeeshop is perfectly located for easy access to all areas of the city. It’s nestled at the top of El Raval in the Ciutat Vella district and is only a short walk from Plaça de Catalunya. Therefore, it would make a great cannabis club for tourists in Barcelona. Unfortunately, they seem to have removed their web presence lately and are hard to locate on social media to request an invitation. Plenty of cannabis clubs have been getting closed by police in BCN recently and so many of the well-established weed cafes are closing their doors to new members. If you’ve got a membership here or you know a friend who can get you in, then it’s worth becoming a member.
La Mente is also known as a great place to go watch live sports. They have screens to show the games on and they are very popular with the locals that frequent the bar. Football is a huge Spanish pastime. Many Barcelona cannabis clubs host live DJs and music events throughout the year but La Mente is not one of those weed cafés. They don’t have music events and prefer to focus their time and attention on supplying their members with weed and displaying sporting events. A real shame for music lovers as this BCN coffeeshop is one of the very best for natural light and airy environment. The police in Barcelona are very vigilant though, so perhaps they feel it’s best not to draw too much attention to their establishment.
If you know a local and can get access to this exclusive Barcelona cannabis club, then it’s well worth your time. The frosted windows and open environment make it a great place to relax with friends and well situated, with easy access to all the popular areas of the city.
