One of the first things that stands out to you about HQ cannabis club Barcelona is the size of the venue. Many BCN weed cafés are small rooms in basements or darkened spaces with no real décor. HQ coffeeshop is a modern, open-plan space. It’s set downstairs as you enter but that overhead space has been left open, so it feels like you’re in a large warehouse of refectory. Plants are placed all around the beams above your head, so while the venue doesn’t have much natural light, it does feel like you’re outside.

HQ cannabis club is known for its strong relationship with the music and cannabis growing scene in Barcelona. Every year during the Spannabis awards there are a selection of events all over the city known as off-Spannabis. The HQ coffeeshop runs music events and weed judging competitions so members can get involved in the celebration of Spanish cannabis culture. This year they hosted the ‘Masters of Rosin’ competition where growers had their strains judged by noted industry leaders. They also had music from the DJs of Disco Paradiso, which is known to many a music lover as one of the finest record shops in Barcelona. Many BCN cannabis clubs play music, but to have these local music aficionados just goes to demonstrate how connected they are with the real undercurrent of musical culture in the city.

If music isn’t your thing, then they also host regular yoga classes and have a few arcade machines to keep you entertained.
